UPS Named a Top Company for Diversity; Black Enterprise Magazine Releases 'The 40 Best Companies for Diversity'
(CSRwire) ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 14, 2006--In recognizing UPS, Black
Enterprise cited the company's continued commitment to a multicultural
environment indicative of its global reach. The magazine highlighted
statistics including 70,000 African Americans in UPS's U.S. workforce, and
minorities holding 85 senior management positions, five company board
positions, and accounting for 50 percent of new hires last year.
Black Enterprise compiled its second annual listing after evaluating
diversity programs, consulting with diversity experts and corporate
diversity officers, and conducting an extensive survey of more than 1,000
of America's largest publicly traded companies and 50 leading global
companies with significant U.S. operations.
