Over a Dozen Businesses Join the Chevron 5,000,000 Mile Rideshare Challenge and Reward Commuters for Sharing Rides and Conserving Fuel
Lunch, show tickets, golfing, dinner cruises, gardening supplies and even discounts on home purchases are all offered to Washington, D.C., area commuters who share rides and conserve fuel.
(CSRwire) RESTON, Va. - NuRide, Inc. (www.nuride.com), the nation's first
incentive-based ridesharing network, announced today that another 17
businesses and government organizations have become sponsors for the
"Chevron 5,000,000 Mile Rideshare Challenge" taking place in the greater
Washington, D.C., area. These new sponsors will provide a variety of
rewards to area commuters who are conserving fuel and reducing commuting
costs by sharing rides using the NuRide service. In addition to Chevron,

have signed on to support the Chevron 5,000,000 Mile Rideshare Challenge,"

The Chevron 5,000,000 Mile Rideshare Challenge was launched in Washington,
D.C., on February 28, 2006. The event is targeted to involve over 5,000
commuters, resulting in 5,000,000 fewer miles driven and over 200,000
gallons of gasoline being conserved. To participate in the program,
commuters use NuRide's innovative online ridesharing program to find other
people going their way. The NuRide web site calculates the savings for each
trip and awards participants with points for each confirmed ridesharing
trip, which can be redeemed with participating sponsors for gift cards,
gift certificates, show tickets and various other rewards.
