Motorola's Corporate Citizenship Report Highlights Community, Accountability and Sustainability Efforts
Motorola and the Motorola Foundation donated more than $12 million in cash and equipment in 2005 to support disaster relief, charitable organizations and math, science and technology education.
(CSRwire) SCHAUMBURG, Ill. - Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) has released its 2005
Corporate Citizenship Report, which shares the company's principles,
policies and progress on community, accountability and sustainability
efforts.

are going beyond helping consumers and businesses to unleash amazing

The 2005 Corporate Citizenship Report addresses questions about how
Motorola supports social change through our products, philanthropy,
community support and disaster relief, as well as how the company takes
action to do the right thing with its supply chain management, corporate
governance, diversity, treatment of employees and environmental health and
safety. - Motorola and the Motorola Foundation donated more than $12
million in cash and equipment in 2005 to support disaster relief,
charitable organizations and math, science and technology education.
- During the natural disasters of 2005, Motorola responded to both the
humanitarian and communications needs of victims and first responders.
Employees reached beyond products to extend time and money to restore
communities around the world devastated by hurricanes, earthquakes and
tsunamis.
- The GSM Association selected Motorola as the first and sole handset
provider for its Emerging Market Handset program, which fuels economic
growth and spurs social change in developing markets such as India, South
Africa, Russia, Egypt, the Philippines and Indonesia.
- Motorola product design teams work to achieve balance between
environmental responsibility, design, customer needs and cost. The company
takes a proactive approach to environmental issues such as e-waste and
product take-back and restriction of hazardous substances regulations.
- Through its leadership in the Global eSustainability Initiative, a
consortium of global technology companies committed to sustainable
development, Motorola is active in developing a common industry approach
to supply chain management.
- The Dow Jones Sustainability Index, the FTSE4Good Index and the
Calvert Social Index each have recognized Motorola as a socially
