CVS/pharmacy Provides Financial Gifts to Cover Pharmaceutical Needs of "Miracle Workers" Patients
New ABC Alternative Series Works with CVS/pharmacy to
Provide Post-Surgical Pharmaceuticals to Patients
(CSRwire) WOONSOCKET, RI- CVS/pharmacy announced today its participation in
ABC's new series, "Miracle Workers." The new series is about real people
overcoming insurmountable odds with the help of an elite team of medical
professionals and premieres Monday, March 6 (10:00 -11:00 p.m. ET).
CVS/pharmacy will provide a financial gift to cover a patient's
post-surgical pharmaceutical needs in each of the six episodes. In two
episodes, a CVS pharmacist, John Aivazis, will appear with the patient to
discuss their pharmaceutical needs and present the gift to the patient in
a CVS/pharmacy. CVS/pharmacy is also the main sponsor of the show.
"Miracle Workers" are a team of doctors who perform breakthrough
procedures to heal those most in need. Procedures range from restoring
vision to the blind to performing deep brain stimulation to dramatically
reduce the motor symptoms associated with Parkinson's disease. ABC will
provide a web site (miracleworkers.abc.com) where
viewers will be able to follow the patients beyond each episode to see
first-hand how the procedures continue to transform their lives.
"CVS/pharmacy is extremely proud to support 'Miracle Workers.' The
mission of this program ties directly to the vision of CVS/pharmacy to
help people live longer, healthier, happier lives," said Helena Foulkes,
Senior Vice President of Advertising and Marketing of CVS Corporation.
"Being a part of this show gives us the opportunity not only to help these
patients with medications that will make a difference in their lives, but
also to show the importance of medication management and the essential
role that a pharmacist plays in this process."
"Given Miracle Workers' focus on helping those in need, we are
thrilled to have CVS/pharmacy along as a partner - they've provided
much-deserved assistance to the patients on the show." said Dan Longest,
senior vice president of integrated marketing and promotion for ABC
Television Network.
Hill Holiday, CVS/pharmacy's agency of record, was instrumental in
creating the sponsorship opportunity with ABC Television Network. Created
by Renegade 83, "Miracle Workers" will be executive-produced by Darryl
Frank and Justin Falvey (co-heads of DreamWorks Television), and David
Garfinkle and Jay Renfroe from Renegade 83 Entertainment. Scott Jeffress
is co-executive producer. "Miracle Workers" is broadcast with Spanish
subtitles via secondary closed captioning.
