Annual Conference on Corporate Citizenship Announces Keynote Speakers

Freakonomics co-author Steven Levitt among keynoters at Center for Corporate Citizenship at Boston College event March 26-28 in Orlando

(CSRwire) CHESTNUT HILL - Steven D. Levitt, economist and co-author of the best-seller Freakonomics, will be the lead keynote speaker at the annual International Corporate Citizenship Conference to be held March 26-28, 2006 in Orlando, FL at the Peabody Hotel.

Other keynote speakers at the conference, sponsored by The Center for Corporate Citizenship at Boston College, include Jeff Swartz, CEO and President, Timberland; Julius Walls, Jr., CEO and President, Greyston Bakery; Nicholas M. Donofrio, Executive Vice President, Innovation and Technology, IBM; and John V. Murphy, Chairman, President, and CEO of OppenheimerFunds. The conference is expected to attract 400 business professionals.

The conference is titled If Corporate Citizenship is the Answer, What is the Question? and will focus on business strategy, best practices, and trends related to the role that companies play in society.

The two and a half day conference features 16 learning sessions that explore topics such as:

  • Rethinking Stakeholder Engagement in an Increasingly Complex World
  • Making Corporate Citizenship Real: Strategies and Systems for Integration
  • Managing Corporate Community Involvement Globally
  • How Corporations Engage with Youth in Solving Key Social Issues
  • The Changing Social Contract and Corporate Community Involvement
  • What Sustainability Really Means for Business Transformation
  • Defining Performance Excellence in Corporate Citizenship
  • Creating Synergy Between Corporate Citizenship and Public Affairs

    The learning sessions will be led by professionals representing such leading companies as Abbott Laboratories, Ernst & Young, General Electric, Home Depot, Levi Strauss & Co., Nokia and Novartis. The conference also includes a Sunday evening dinner at Epcot Center, hosted by The Walt Disney World Company.
