GLOBE 2006 Trade Fair Attracts Record International Participation
(CSRwire) Vancouver, B.C.: Vancouver is getting set to once again host the
world of environmental business, with GLOBE 2006 taking place March 29-31.
International participation in the trade fair is reaching new heights,
making this event one of the greatest international marketplaces on
environmental solutions Canada has ever seen. Over 400 leading
environmental and clean energy technology firms will be represented with
major trade exhibits planned by Austria, Korea, Sweden, Holland, the
United Kingdom (including a major involvement from Wales), the United
States and the host, Canada.
Over $465 million USD in business was done two years ago at GLOBE 2004.
That number is expected to rise this year with companies from all over the
world coming to seek customers and build business-to-business
relationships. Significant green business is taking place throughout the
west coast in places like San Diego, San Francisco and Seattle, but
Vancouver is seen by many as "the place to be" with the 2010 Olympics
dubbing itself the "Green Games."
In a recent Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) interview, a top
Washington state official says GLOBE 2006 is the first chance for
Americans to pitch ideas to partner on Olympic contracts. Robin Cheung,
who helps Washington's small- and medium-sized businesses participate in
international trade, says no single city can provide all the services the
games will need, and that there will be many business opportunities for
companies looking to "make the 2010 Olympics one of the most successful
green Olympics."
The GLOBE 2006 trade fair will encompass every aspect of environmental
business; two of the major themes are transportation and construction:
Advanced Transportation Technologies and Solutions Showcase. This
area will serve as an ideal venue for visitors who want to keep up-to-date
on the latest in transportation technology, and for industry leaders who
want to display their innovations and form transnational alliances.
Exhibitors include Honda Inc., which will be showing off its latest hybrid
and fuel-cell technology; Dynasty Electric Dar, which is a world leader in
zero emission light urban vehicles; Earth Tech Inc., which was involved in
the design and building of the "people mover" at Pearson International
Airport in Toronto; and Fuel Cells Canada, which will show off the latest
in the Hydrogen Highway Project.
Sustainable Construction Showcase. Green construction in Vancouver
is on the cutting edge, and GLOBE 2006 is a unique opportunity to learn
the latest from leaders in green building, as well as to see leading
innovations and identify potential partners and funding sources.
Exhibitors in this area include Altus Engineering, Cimatec Environmental
Engineering Inc., and the Green Roofs Research Facility.
International participation in GLOBE 2006 is building steadily, with more
than 40 countries already represented by scheduled international delegates
at the event. Countries such as Brazil, Hong Kong, Russia, and Sweden will
send envoys to participate in the conference, tour the trade fair, and
take in all that Vancouver has to offer. Delegate registration and exhibit
opportunities at GLOBE 2006 are still available.

GLOBE 2006 is held by the GLOBE Foundation, an international consultancy
in the business of the environment. GLOBE's expertise lies in project
management, event development, and management and consulting in the fields
of environment and energy, urban development and corporate responsibility.
The ninth event in the GLOBE series will be held March 29-31 at the
Vancouver Convention & Exhibition Centre.
