Amberjac Projects Limited Release Cell Balancing Solutions And Battery Management Solutions
(CSRwire) Amberjac Projects Limited, a company from Lincolnshire in the United
Kingdom, are proud to announce the commercial availability of Lithium-Ion
cell balancing and battery management solutions in addition to advanced
Lithium and Nickel Metal Hydride charging solutions.
Amberjac Projects has decided to offer its expertise in high power Lithium
and Nickel Metal Hydride battery management systems to engineers who are
looking for commercially available, 'off-the-shelf' solutions. The company
will offer a range of products covering all of the available Lithium
technologies as well as battery monitoring packages for Nickel Metal
Hydride systems.
Managing Director Simon Sheldon said, "There is a distinct lack of
'off-the-shelf' solutions for today's engineers with many companies facing
large non-recurring engineering costs, often running in to tens of
thousands of dollars, to develop bespoke systems. What we have achieved is
a flexible solution to cover a range of different Lithium battery voltages,
chemistries, capacities and power handling capabilities. Lithium technology
is starting to emerge in large format and high power applications,
especially with the emergence of new cathode chemistries such as mixed
metals oxides and phosphates. This is requiring a new breed of battery
management and balancing systems that many companies are struggling to
develop. We have used our expertise in this market and our battery
chemistry knowledge to offer a complete solution at the lowest possible
cost without sacrificing quality and reliability."
The company will offer products based on a backbone technology designed to
be flexible in battery chemistry and capacity, operating over 3 current
ranges; 1- to 5 amp; 5 to 30 amps; 30 to 100 amps. There are plans to
offer systems up to 500 amps within then next 12 months.
The battery management systems will include either active or passive
balancing but also offer the facility to 'add-on' useful features such as
fuel gauging and CANBUS communications protocols for integration in to
overall system architecture. All this can be achieved at a fraction of
the cost offered by competitors.
The battery management systems will be complemented by a range of flexible
charging solutions from 500 watts up to 10kW.
"We are entering a new era for Lithium technology and we are ready to help
our clients over the challenges ahead", said Mr Sheldon "We will also be
offering battery care and charging solutions for more traditional battery
chemistries such as Nickel Metal Hydride so satisfying demand where
Lithium solutions are not an option and there is a clear need to move on
from Nickel Cadmium or Lead Acid solutions."
Amberjac Projects have also become sales agents in the UK for
Aerovironment's power processing systems.
