Kopali Organics Heads 'Conscious Goods' Caravan Powered by Waste Veggie Oil
(CSRwire) Los Angeles, CA - Kopali
Organics, a fair commerce organic specialty food company announced
today it will lead a 'Conscious Goods Caravan' to southern California,
Arizona and Nevada. The caravan will be visiting Whole Foods Markets,
local schools, universities, farmers markets and other community centers
in the southern pacific region, to promote fair commerce, organic products
and transparent business practices. The first stop on tour will be the
International Sales meeting of Business Wire and www.CSRwire.com at the Loew's Santa Monica
Beach Hotel, where csrwire.com will announce their sponsorship of next
year's tour. This year's tour will last six weeks.
Kopali has invited other mission-aligned ecologically and socially
conscious businesses to tour 23 Whole Foods Market stores during its
launch of twenty-five new products from Mexico and Costa Rica. The
Company's Eco Showroom Veggie Bus runs on recycled vegetable oil. The
mobile headquarters features photovoltaic solar electricity, sustainable
bamboo and palm wood interiors, an all-organic renewable energy kitchen
and dozens of other sustainable, organic and fair commerce solutions.
For six weeks Kopali's Eco Showroom Veggie Bus and its crew of social
entrepreneurs and media artists will raise the awareness of fair commerce
and organic foods, two of the fastest growing segments in the food and
beverage industries. "We look forward to the day when all businesses and
products are as focused on improving people's lives and our planet's
well-being as they are on the financial bottom line" says Zak Zaidman, Kopali's
co-founder.
Other mission aligned conscious businesses who have joined Kopali on the
Conscious Goods Caravan include No
Enemy, New Chapter, Bean Products, KlipTech PaperStone, GreenHome.com, TS Designs, Eco Teas, and of course Whole Foods Market.
Kopali's founders are also the Co-founders of the Sustainable Solutions
Caravan. In the past two consecutive years, the recycled vegetable oil
powered caravan traveled from San Francisco through Mexico, Guatemala, El
Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica meeting with farmers,
government officials, business leaders and press reaching tens of millions
with their message promoting sustainable lifestyles.
Kopali was founded in 2004 at Punta
Mona, an off-the-grid educational farm and sustainability center in
the rainforest of Costa Rica. The Company operates as an umbrella
organization for other mission aligned ventures including Kopali Communities, developing
ultra ecological farms and communities in Costa Rica. Kopali is part of a
small but growing breed of triple-bottom-line businesses that are driven
by, focused on and committed to social and ecological missions with
financial returns.
