Best Buy Unveils te@ch Emergency Response Program for K-12 Schools That Enroll Students Displaced by Hurricanes

(CSRwire) --(BUSINESS WIRE)--

WHAT: The te@ch emergency response program will provide up to $3
million in Best Buy gift cards to help any K-12 school with
enrolled students displaced by the recent hurricanes. Gift
cards will be awarded in amounts up to $5,000 per school,
redeemable at any U.S. Best Buy store, to help improve the
classroom experience this year for all students.

WHEN: Online applications are available Oct. 1, 2005 at
www.bestbuy.com. Applications will be accepted through Nov. 4,
2005, with gift cards awarded to schools by Nov. 21, 2005.

WHO: Any K-12 school that has enrolled students displaced by recent
hurricanes for the 2005-2006 school year is eligible for a gift
card. Principals and teachers at these schools are invited to
apply for the grants.

WHY: Best Buy is committed to bringing technology and education
together to make learning fun for children and K-12 classrooms.
Through $3 million in te@ch emergency response awards, Best Buy
will help schools that have opened their doors to displaced
students. Additionally, through working with appropriate local
and state officials in Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and
Texas, Best Buy will help reboot and rebuild K-12 schools
destroyed or damaged by recent hurricanes through a donation of
$5 million in computer hardware, networks, and Geek Squad
computer repair and installation services.
