Imperial Oil Donates to Hurricane Relief
(CSRwire) CALGARY - Imperial Oil Limited today announced that it will donate
$250,000 to the Red Cross in support of hurricane relief efforts in the
U.S. gulf coast.
"We are deeply saddened by this disaster, which has had a devastating
impact on a number of states and their residents," said Tim Hearn,
chairman, president and chief executive officer of Imperial Oil. "Our
thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones of those touched
by this tragedy as they attempt to put their lives back in order."
In addition, Imperial Oil and ExxonMobil Canada are working diligently to
address tight North American supply conditions and to support relief and
reconstruction efforts that are currently underway.
As well, Exxon Mobil Corporation is contributing US$7 million to assist in
hurricane relief efforts and will also match contributions made by their
employees and annuitants worldwide, including those of Imperial Oil and
the ExxonMobil companies in Canada. The Hurricane Katrina matching program
will provide a one-to-one match of individual contributions up to US$50,000
made through Dec. 31, 2005.
With these actions, Imperial and ExxonMobil hope to assist in alleviating
the challenges facing those affected by the devastation of this
disaster.
