Image Microsystems Awards Environmental Research Grant to Texas Tech University
(CSRwire) AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 22, 2005--Image Microsystems
Inc. awards a $75,000.00 grant to Texas Tech University's Center for
Applied Research in Advanced Manufacturing. The Centers' Program Director,
Dr. Hong-Chao Zhang, and his team provide ongoing research in the area of
Life-Cycle Engineering and Environmentally Conscious Manufacturing.
"Through our research collaboration with Image Microsystems, we have
the opportunity to develop leading-edge research solutions for both
business and academia. The research also supports our undergraduate and
graduate curriculum development," said Dr. Zhang.
Image Microsystems chose to support Dr. Zhang's work because it is
pertinent to the company's own mission of offering innovative recycling
solutions for outdated computer and other IT equipment to eliminate the
legal, financial, and environmental risk and burden associated with
disposal and environmental waste.

Over the next few years, the Center's research will focus on cell
phone End-of-Life, electronic products, plastic waste and recycling as
well as an additional grant from the National Science Foundation GOALI
program to research, model and optimize the reverse logistics channel to
improve responsiveness, speed and cost savings while minimizing stress on
the environment.
