Corporate Responsibility in Russia and the UN Global Compact
(CSRwire) LONDON - Ethical Corporation will host a two-day conference from 7-8
June 2005 in St Petersburg, Russia, focusing on some of the essential
corporate responsibility issues in Eurasia. It will also highlight
opportunities for businesses incorporating the UN Global Compact
principles into their Russian and Eastern/Central European operations.
Over the two days, experts from leading multinational companies and
non-governmental organisations will share their knowledge and experience
of combining ethical and responsible practices with business growth and
competitiveness.
Corporate responsibility takes different forms and can be driven by
various motives. In the face of growing pressure to responsibly manage
issues affecting business reputation, this event aims to recognise ways
companies can maintain long-term profitability while simultaneously
advancing the public good.
Through keynote sessions, speeches, breakout groups, workshops and
off-the-record discussions, attendees will explore practical methods of
ensuring business practices positively reflect the 10 principles of the UN
Global Compact Initiative.

responsibility issues:
How to improve corporate governance standards
The real difference between corporate responsibility and philanthropy
The role of multi-lateral institutions in encouraging corporate
responsibility
