Reduced registration rates end this week - October 9
Grand Hyatt New York, New York - November 9-12
(CSRwire) SAN FRANCISCO - To explore the challenges of CSR integration in new
ways, a number of this year's 30-plus break-out sessions at the BSR 2004
Annual Conference will feature a unique 'in-conversation' format,
providing an extraordinary opportunity to interact with the experts
assembled.
Featured among the in-conversation sessions will be: C.K. Prahalad, Author
of The Fortune at the Bottom of the Pyramid. Long recognized as an
expert in business strategy, C.K. Prahalad has been at the forefront of a
global movement that emphasizes private sector solutions to global poverty
by creating products for markets in the developing world that reward
sustainability with profitability.
Also 'in-conversation' will be Trevor Neilson, Executive Director, Global
Business Coalition on HIV/AIDS. Mr. Neilson's organization has helped a
number of global companies take a more active role in the fight against
the spread of this disease.
Another session will feature Lord Peter Melchett who has served as Chair
and Executive Director of Greenpeace UK, a member of its International
Board and Chair of the Board of Greenpeace Japan. He is now Policy
Director of the UK-based Soil Association. He will examine the ways that
NGO campaigns have been instrumental in raising awareness of CSR issues in
the past 10 years - why some campaigns have achieved change while others
have not.
The slate of keynote speakers will also feature business leaders and area
experts including:
Sir Tom McKillop, Chief Executive of AstraZeneca plc
John Morgridge, Chairman of the Board at Cisco Systems
Anne Mulcahy, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of
Xerox Corporation
Paul Pressler, President and Chief Executive Officer at Gap Inc.
Paul Skinner, Chairman of Rio Tinto plc and Rio Tinto Limited
Joseph E. Stiglitz, 2001 recipient of the Nobel Prize in economics,
Professor of Economics and Finance at Columbia University, and former
Chief Economist and Senior Vice-President of the World Bank and chairman
of the Council of Economic Advisors for the Clinton administration.
Consistently drawing the attendance of more than 1,000 leaders from
business, civil society and the public sector, and representation from
more than 35 countries, the BSR Annual Conference is one of the largest
and most valuable networking and learning forums for CSR experts and those
