Xerox Wins Two Awards From the U.S. Small Business Administration
(CSRwire) Xerox Corporation (NYSE: XRX) has won two supplier awards from the U.S.
Small Business Administration (SBA): the Frances Perkins Vanguard Award
for Excellence and the Dwight D. Eisenhower Award for Excellence.
The Frances Perkins Vanguard Award for Excellence recognizes both
individuals and buying activities in government and industry sectors for
using woman-owned, small businesses as prime contractors, subcontractors
and suppliers. The Dwight D. Eisenhower Award for Excellence honors large
business contractors who use small businesses and subcontractors.
Xerox was judged as the most outstanding of all large contractors
out of more than 2,500 entries for both awards. Xerox works with more than
10,000 small business suppliers; 19 percent of these are minority and
female suppliers. These suppliers delivered more than 12 percent in cost
savings to Xerox, and they are involved in every aspect of Xerox'
procurement and marketing businesses.
"Winning these awards acknowledges our dedication to supplier diversity
and to our economic enterprise as a whole," said Anne Mulcahy, Xerox
president and chief operating officer. "Xerox is sincerely committed to
supplier diversity and we are honored to be distinguished as a model in
this area."
The awards will be presented at the 33rd annual Joint Industry/SBA
Procurement Conference in Washington, D.C., on June 13 and 14.
