Deloitte's Barry Salzberg Appointed Chairman of the Board of the YMCA of Greater New York
(CSRwire) NEW YORK - The YMCA of Greater New York today announced the
appointment of Barry Salzberg, Managing Partner, Deloitte & Touche USA
LLP, as its Chairman of the Board. Mr. Salzberg will succeed Robert
Annunziata, who leaves after eight years of service to the YMCA of Greater
New York.
The YMCA of Greater New York is a community service organization that
promotes positive values through quality programs that build spirit, mind
and body, to more than 350,000 New York City residents each year-164,000
of them children. It encompasses 19 YMCA Branches and more than 200
program sites throughout the five boroughs, and three camps in upstate New
York.
"We are honored and excited to have Barry accept this appointment," said
Jack Lund, President & CEO of the YMCA of Greater New York. "His
exemplary leadership, dedication to the community and commitment to
advancing diversity will have a tremendous impact on the services we
provide to our constituents. We know that Barry, as well as the full
Board, will be instrumental in guiding the organization into its next
phase of success."
Mr. Salzberg joined Deloitte in 1977. He was admitted as a partner in
1985, and named U.S. Managing Partner in 2003. An acknowledged authority

tax practice prior to assuming his current leadership role. In addition,
he is a member of the Deloitte Board of Directors and serves as Chairman
of the U.S. organization's Executive Committee.
"Having already served as member of the board of the YMCA of Greater New
York for nearly two years, I know how critical this organization is to the
community," said Salzberg. "The YMCA enriches lives; it makes a difference
to everyone who experiences what it has to offer. It is personally
rewarding to be involved and I'm looking forward to assuming this
leadership position."
Robert Annunziata, who served on the Board for eight years, the last four
as Chairman, added, "I am proud of my service as Board Chair of the YMCA
of Greater New York, and I have enjoyed working with each member of the
Board and staff of the Association. Barry Salzberg's appointment will add
to the success of this YMCA as we continue to fulfill a mission critical
to New Yorkers. He is a natural leader, whose commitment and passion for
the organization is wholly embraced." Jack Lund said, "Bob Annuniziata's
personal dedication to the YMCA has been long admired. Bob has led the
YMCA during an era of institutional transformation. We are deeply grateful
to him for his service to the YMCA and to the 350,000 people we serve each
year."
Mr. Salzberg received his undergraduate degree in Accounting from Brooklyn
College, his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School, and his LLM in Taxation from
