Center for Corporate Citizenship at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Annual Partnership Conference: Business and K-12 Education Partnerships
May 20-21, 2004, Washington, DC
(CSRwire) WASHINGTON- K-12 Education is the number one social issue supported
by U.S. companies, and the business community is deeply concerned about
contributing effectively to support the future development of education in
the United States.
To address this concern, on May 20-21, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Center
for Corporate Citizenship will bring corporate philanthropy leaders from
across the nation to meet with government and education experts in the
historic U.S. Chamber of Commerce building in Washington, DC.
U.S. Secretary of Education Rod Paige and President and U.S. Chamber of
Commerce President and CEO Tom Donohue will deliver keynote remarks.
Topics include:
How to better support the over 150,000 business and K-12 education
partnerships currently operating in the United States.
How public policy issues like No Child Left Behind affect
business-education partnerships
What does a road map for student success in the 21st century look
like?
How can business improve and support the infrastructure for education
providers?
The event is sponsored by a "who's who" of American business and will
feature the top leaders for education from companies like GlaxoSmithKline,
Toyota, State Farm, KPMG, CVS/pharmacy, Progress Energy, Target, and Sun
Microsystems.
