Asian Forum on Corporate Social Responsibility Announced
The foremost event on Corporate Social Responsibility in Asia takes place in September 2003
(CSRwire) BANGKOK, THAILAND - The second annual Asian Forum on Corporate
Social Responsibility will be held on September 18 to 20, 2003 at the Le
Royal Meridien Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand. Over 400 delegates from 123
companies attended the first Asian Forum last year in Manila. Even more
are expected to attend AFCSR 2003.
This year’s theme is “Business, Government and Civil Society
Collaboration in Nation Building.” It includes plenary, panel and
breakout sessions, plus the special Asian CSR Expo.
AFCSR 2003 features the Asian CSR Awards - a FIRST in Asia where nominees
from all over the region will vie for the awards in four categories:
Environmental Excellence, Best Workplace Practices/ Employee Ownership,
Small Company CSR and Poverty Alleviation.
Senator Mechai Viravaidya Founder and Board Chairman of the Population and
Community Development Association of Thailand and Mr. Ramon R. del Rosario,
Jr., Chairman of the Board of Advisors, RVR-AIM (Asian Institute of
Management) Center for Corporate Responsibility are Co-Chairmen. Coca-Cola
Company, Siam Cement and Shell are the co-principal sponsors while Bangkok
Bank will host a luncheon at the Conference.
