Hydropoint and The Coca-Cola Company to Host Webcast Outlining Guidelines for Achieving Smart Water Management
HydroPoint's Sustainability 2.0(TM) Educational Series Continues with a Webcast on Smart Water Management Strategies that Deliver an Immediate Reduction in Corporate Water Footprint
(CSRwire) PETALUMA, CA. – October 2, 2008 - HydroPoint Data Systems Inc.,
provider of the WeatherTRAK(R) Smart Water Management
solution, today announced the next webcast in its Sustainability
2.0(TM) Educational Series. The webcast, "Guidelines for Achieving Smart
Water Management," outlines Sustainability 2.0 strategies that bring
immediate ROI while delivering on water conservation goals. The webcast
will be co-hosted by The Coca-Cola Company and HydroPoint on Friday,
October 10, 2008 at 2 pm ET.
With drought conditions becoming more prevalent across North America, the
sharp decline in the world's water supply has meant a dramatic increase in
water rates, which now outpace oil and gas prices. This in turn has
resulted in an immediate need for businesses to reduce their water
footprint.
It is critical for all organizations – from Wall Street to Main Street,
as well as government – to evaluate their water footprint as part of
their conservation efforts. This webcast will examine Sustainability 2.0
Smart Water Management strategies that eliminate the greatest areas of
water waste and exceed conservation and cost-saving goals.
Jeff Foote, director of environment and water resources for The Coca-Cola
Company, will discuss the company's experience with Smart Water Management
initiatives and how it reduces water consumption throughout the company's
entire supply chain. Foote will also discuss the criteria the company
uses to evaluate sustainability programs and the metrics and tools put in
place to measure programs, manage progress and report successes.
Sustainability 2.0 strategies fuse economic and green benefits, enabling
conservation programs to produce accountability and ROI for lasting
financial and environmental returns. Organizations that have implemented
next-generation sustainability programs have realized substantial cost
savings by reducing their corporate water footprint.
According to the recent Frost and Sullivan "Going Green Survey," CEO's are
the leading champions for sustainability initiatives; nearly 70 percent of
C-level executives perceive sustainability programs as a competitive
advantage. Additionally, more than two-thirds of senior executives polled
identified achieving sustainability as a growth opportunity for their
companies. The majority of respondents also reported that their company's
rate of investment in sustainability initiatives is expected to
increase.
"Webcast participants will gain the knowledge to launch, measure, manage
and report on successful Smart Water Management strategies," said
Christopher Spain, founder and chief strategy officer for HydroPoint.
"Sustainability 2.0 strategies deliver significant financial benefits to
corporate bottom lines, quickly offsetting any initial investment. By
implementing Sustainability 2.0 strategies, companies enjoy a competitive
advantage and achieve corporate growth objectives."
Sustainability 2.0 strategies are enabled by HydroPoint's WeatherTRAK
Smart Water Management solution. Proven to save four times more water and
expenses than traditional urban water conservation practices, the
WeatherTRAK solution eliminates waste by dynamically adjusting water
output based on landscape needs and changes in local weather conditions.
Companies apply cost savings realized through WeatherTRAK Smart Water
Management to fund other critical technology infrastructure projects
throughout the enterprise.
