(CSRwire) WARRENDALE, Pa., Sept. 19 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- SAE International Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer David L. Schutt, PhD, has been appointed to serve on the Executive Board of the International Federation of Automotive Engineering Societies (FISITA), in the position of Vice President-America.

FISITA has three Regional Vice Presidents (America, Asia and Europe), who are responsible for leading cooperation among the automotive societies in their region and for ensuring that the needs of individual members are reflected throughout FISITA's activities.

Dr. Schutt joins 16 other society leaders and senior figures on FISITA's Executive Board.

SAE International is FISITA's largest member society.

Prior to joining SAE International in 2007, Schutt served as Chief Strategy Officer and Director of External Affairs for the American Chemical Society (ACS).

Schutt holds a doctorate in physical chemistry from Princeton University and a bachelor's degree from Calvin College. He also earned an M.B.A. from Johns Hopkins University.
