Delhaize Group Publishes it First Corporate Responsibility Report
(CSRwire) September 3, 2008 - The international food retailer, Delhaize Group, has
published its first Corporate Responsibility Report, entitled "A Healthy
Approach to Life".
The report describes how the Group has contributed to the health and
wellbeing of its customers, associates and the communities in which it
operates through its activities in three key areas: Products, People and
Planet. Within each of these three areas, the report focuses on the
Group's strategic priorities. These include: - Food safety and health
(Products)
- Associate development (People)
- Energy conservation (Planet) Compiled using the Global Reporting
Initiative (GRI) G3 guidelines, the report provides data, KPIs and other
information for the calendar year 2007 for both the Group as a whole and
for its operating companies. There are also clearly signposted commitments
for future activities. Business for Social Responsibility (BSR) advised on
the report's content and metrics and provided a review statement, included
at the back of the report.
