Heller Launches "Good Brand Camp" – Inspires Mission-Driven Organizations to Redefine Message in Current Competitive Climate
One Day Workshop Attracts Nonprofits and Social Entrepreneurs
(CSRwire) NEW YORK CITY, NY - Cheryl Heller, CEO and founder of Heller Communication
Design (HCD), today announced the launch of "Good Brand Camp," a one day
workshop for nonprofit organizations and social entrepreneurs to
accomplish their missions by developing more powerful brand strategies and
communication systems that inspire change. The first workshop takes place
Thursday, July 24 at the Thoreau Center, 55 Exchange Place, New York,
NY.
"The growing number of mission-driven organizations has brought with it a
more intense level of competition for support and attention," says Heller.
"Over the years, we’ve (HCD) worked mostly with for-profit companies,
helping them strengthen their messages and methods of delivery. We felt it
was time to share this experience with as many nonprofit organizations as
possible by developing this 'almost free' workshop." (Participants pay a
nominal $100 registration fee.)
What participants in Good Brand Camp will learn on Thursday is that, like
any business, the key to success involves developing a clearer definition
of what their organizations stand for and to communicate it in a way that
distinguishes them and rouses potential supporters to action.
Heller will conduct the full day clinic. Participants will learn to
accomplish their mission by:
Defining objectives that result in amplified creativity and action
Identifying and communicating the ethical core of their
organization
Creating a distinctive and relevant brand promise that captures what
is unique about their organization
Using the brand promise as a roadmap for behavior
Creating messages for each of their key audiences
Using communication to engage audiences and create positive change
Participating companies include such diverse organizations as Safe
Horizon, Aging in New York Fund, Greenmap, Ford Hall Forum, Futures and
Options, Idea Lab, Distributed World Power, Swim to Empower, Cooling
America Thru Local Leadership, Ask First, Living the Green and Ojo Oyendo.
Cheryl Heller is helping to launch a new NGO called D-Rev: Design for the
other 90%. She sits on the board of the PopTech conference, which explores
the social impact of technology and the future, and The Cloud Institute for
Sustainability Education.
