Intervals Hits Seventy Million in Billable Time
(CSRwire) Santa Barbara, CA - June 30, 2008 - Businesses in 78 countries have tracked
a total of $70,000,000 worth of business in Intervals (www.myintervals.com),
the popular web-based task and time management system built by Pelago (www.pelagodesign.com).
Up from $10 million and 37 countries just eleven months ago, this number
represents the small business world's fast-growing interest in and need
for ever better hosted management of time and resources.
$70,000,000 also represents the estimated value of the 601,510 hours that
have been tracked to date by Intervals customers, and is based on their
actual hourly rates used in their business transactions, not averages or
industry benchmarks.
Regardless of whether a company bills hourly or per project, the
importance of properly keeping track of the time that a business spends on
client work cannot be understated. For hourly billing, tracked time
translates into revenue while time not tracked translates into potential
financial loss. For flat rate project budgets, time not tracked means no
accurate measure of net profit margins. Intervals enables users not only
to track time spent on client jobs, but also to measure the time spent on
non-billable activities and run reports to weigh the difference. Small
businesses in particular suffer from workload burn-out and quickly max out
their capacity; Intervals helps them make sure time and resources are being
spent the right way, in real-time.
The strong growth of Intervals demonstrates the fundamental importance of
online project management tools in easing administrative processes for
small businesses. In addition to tracking time, Intervals helps small
businesses manage projects, prioritize task lists, keep version histories
of documents, and run detailed reports.
Intervals customers have found a valuable partner in their day-to-day
business operations. "The simple interface allows our resources to spend
less time on time entry and more time on actual work," said Daniel Morse
of DPM Technologies, Inc. "We were able to dump our two separate time
tracking / issue tracking systems for one system that does both jobs
better," added Andrew Embler of Concrete Websites.
