AGM Conducts Company-Wide Sustainability Audit: "Advancing Green Measures"
Partners with nation's first School of Sustainability at Arizona State University
(CSRwire) CSRwire) Tempe, AZ - AGM announced the global kickoff of a company-wide
Sustainability Audit, "Advancing Green Measures" - which will measure
energy efficiency, water conservation, environmental quality, material use
and recovery, and site sustainability of the company. AGM Group is a
multi-national organization that offers environmentally sensitive products
to the earthmoving and aviation industries. Some of AGM's products include
water solutions (water tanks and attachments) that mitigate dust and help
control air quality and ground support equipment (aircraft loaders and
passenger stairs) that use a range of power and charging systems, such as
solar power.
CEO James Gilchrist: "AGM is deeply committed to leading our industry in
environmentally and socially responsible business practices. We will
conduct an audit of all facets of our business - internal, manufacturing,
supply chain, and partnering - to ensure that our vision and values are
translated into our daily working lives, implementing best practices
throughout our global operations."
AGM publicly committed to the "triple bottom line" - a balancing of
social, economic and environmental consideration - in February when they
hired Rachael Skolnik as their first Sustainability Officer for all global
operations. Rachael Skolnik has over ten years of experience in the fields
of social and environmental services. Skolnik has transformed the
company's vision, mission and values based on environmentally and socially
responsible business practices. She integrates her background in psychology
and sustainable service with her passion for social justice and
environmentalism, "Sustainability makes sense for everyone. I am
privileged to bring aboard initiatives that create benefit for the
company, the stakeholders, and the environment."
Skolnik is partnering with Arizona State University's School of
Sustainability (SOS), which was established in 2007 as the first school in
the U.S. to offer graduate and professional degrees in Sustainability. The
school aims to educate a new generation of researchers, practitioners, and
leaders to develop practical solutions to some of the most pressing
environmental, economic, and social challenges of our time. The graduate
student engaged in the project, Brigitte Bavousett Hill, is part of a new
breed of professionals trained in sustainability practices. She was
selected for the SOS inaugural class through an extremely competitive
applicant process and will be one of the first students awarded a Master's
degree from the school. Bavousett Hill's program of study, along with her
six years of international business experience, provides a perfect
foundation to meet AGM's triple bottom line of global corporate
sustainability objectives.
