Organizations to Host New Enhanced Member Profiles on CSRwire
Customized CSR websites embraced by Corporations, NGOs, UN Global Compact
(CSRwire) SPRINGFIELD, MA - June 10, 2008 - CSRwire, the leading newswire for
Corporate Social Responsibility news, is now offering custom-built
multimedia websites for organizations to showcase their CSR initiatives on
CSRwire.com.
CSRwire calls the sites Enhanced Member Profiles, or EMPs. Built to be the
premier CSR platform for an organization, the EMP is customized
specifically for each member and can include videos, podcasts,
presentations, press releases, event and report announcements, research,
career opportunities, and other news. Through the most advanced technology
and search engine optimization, content is easily managed, updated and
optimized.
The new service builds upon CSRwire's eminent position on the Internet for
corporate responsibility, sustainability and 'green' news. CSRwire's search
result rankings on Google consistently ranks among the top three in search
results for CSR and related news, reports, and events.
"The integration of video, commentary, and research in a format that
showcases a company's initiatives further develops increased transparency
and disclosure, manages potential risks, increases shareholder value, and
attracts talent and capital," says CSRwire President Joe Sibilia.
The EMPs on CSRwire are the first-stop for the CSR community to compare
and contrast initiatives among specific organizations, categories,
business sectors, and areas of NGO activities. They will also provide the
global CSR community with a greater understanding of organizations'
approaches to environmental and societal issues, while raising awareness
of their initiatives.
The United Nations Global Compact was one of the first organizations to
create an EMP.
"Our Enhanced Member Profile allows us to spread the word about the Global
Compact more effectively by establishing a widely visible presence on one
of the most important platforms for CSR information," says Georg Kell,
Executive Director of the UN Global Compact.
The new service is part of CSRwire’s latest effort to move beyond the
traditional newswire
"As companies produced more multimedia CSR content, we realized that it
was sometimes difficult to both showcase and organize the content in a way
that was accessible to the CSR community," says CSRwire COO Greg Schneider.
"CSRwire's EMPs brings this content to the forefront of the CSR
community."
Greenopolis.com, the green social networking site that rewards
corporations, communities, foundations, universities and organizations for
making positive environmental changes, is using its EMP to broaden their
reach.
"In the social networks that we must create and build to address
sustainability collaboratively, knowing who each of us is and what we
bring to the table is a must," says Vice President of Content Joe Laur.
"We see our partnership with CSRwire and our Enhanced Member Profile as a
critical part of this path."
Stanford Social Innovation Review uses its EMP to organize its diverse CSR
multimedia.
"CSRwire's Enhanced Member Profile lets us pull together our valuable and
wide-ranging resources on corporate social responsibility," says Regina
Starr Ridley, publishing director at Stanford Social Innovation Review.
"Anyone interested in what the Stanford Social Innovation Review and the
Center for Social Innovation has to offer in articles, blogs, podcasts,
executive education, and conferences can find it all on a single web
page."
Visitors to the EMP will have the ability to add comments, forward content
using 'send to friend', and social bookmarking tools, bringing Web 2.0
functionality to the profile, and deepening interaction among stakeholders
and the organization.
"There are thousands of organizations engaged in CSR initiatives that are
not widely known by the general public or individuals concerned about
corporate behavior," says Schneider. "By optimizing the EMP for enhanced
search results in CSRwire's custom search as well as web search engines
like Google, CSRwire's member organizations are brought to the forefront.
Categorization of all content on the EMP is linked to all other content
distributed by CSRwire, resulting in even greater exposure."
