PotashCorp 2007 Sustainability Report Addresses Yesterday Today Tomorrow
(CSRwire) SASKATOON,SK - June 09, 2008 - Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan
Inc.(PotashCorp) today released its 2007 Sustainability Report,
updating the company's social, economic and environmental performance.
Following the theme of Yesterday Today Tomorrow, this year's report
provides details on how prior decisions and long-held strategies are
impacting current performance and the company's potential for the
future.
"At PotashCorp, we have always operated with a long-term view – not only
of our own performance, but also for the impact we have on the lives of our
stakeholders," said PotashCorp President and Chief Executive Officer Bill
Doyle. "Our sustainability program is designed to measure our progress and
our impact over time. We believe in transparency and this report gives
anyone who wants to know more about our performance and operating
practices an unobstructed look inside our company."
The 2007 report includes discussion of PotashCorp's key strategies, goals
and targets in areas such as safety, environmental stewardship, economic
performance and social contributions. Among the company's highlights
are: - A record-low lost-time injury rate;
- Strategies to voluntarily reduce the company's greenhouse gas
emissions by 10 percent per tonne of production by 2012;
- $3.5 million in total charitable donations and a new annual
philanthropic donations target tied to company earnings; and
- Announced plans to reinvest $4.5 billion to raise annual potash
operating capacity.
