Former CIA Director speaks and answers questions in a FREE, LIVE, interactive Web event, June 10, 2008 at 5PM ET
(CSRwire) BOSTON, MA AND THE WORLD WIDE WEB - June 2, 2008 - R. James Woolsey,
Venture Partner at VantagePoint Venture Partners, Senior Executive
Advisor, Booz Allen Hamilton, and former Director of Central Intelligence,
will be a keynote speaker at The Virtual Energy Forum, a
unique two-day, online-only event that will connect thousands of
executives with sustainability experts, innovators in sustainability and
energy efficiency, and providers of alternative energy products and
services - through a LIVE, interactive online environment.
Identifying America's dependence on oil as a major national security
threat, Mr. Woolsey's presentation at the Forum is entitled "Energy,
Security, and the Long War of the 21st Century." A strong supporter of a
bi-partisan approach to clean energy uniting 'Tree Huggers and Hawks'
alike, Woolsey has written "we must become independent -- not just of
imported oil, but of oil itself."
Former Director of Central Intelligence (1993-95), Woolsey serves on the
VantagePoint CleanTech Advisory Council, whose other members include
Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and Joel Makower, principal of Clean Edge; founder
and executive editor of GreenBiz.com and ClimateBiz.com. Woolsey, driven
by concerns for national security, has been a long time advocate for clean
energy with particular interest in distributed generation, electric
transport and biofuels. In addition to his role with VantagePoint, Woolsey
is a Senior Executive Advisor at Booz Allen Hamilton, where he was
previously a Vice President. He has served four times in the federal
government for a total of 12 years, holding Presidential appointments in
two Democratic and two Republican administrations. Read his biography at
