One week to go for Corporate Climate Response London
Over 150 sustainability professionals signed up already
(CSRwire) May 12, 2008 - LONDON - With one week to go, time and space is quickly
running out for Corporate Climate Response - London (May
19th-21st). Minister for the Environment, Phil Woolas MP, will deliver
the keynote address at this event which aims to prepare companies for the
UK-s new mandatory carbon trading scheme - the Carbon Reduction Commitment
(CRC).
There has been a phenomenal response to this event with over 150
participants confirmed to attend. Registrants include sustainability
professionals from top companies including British Land *Royal Mail *
Unilever * Aviva * Boots * Heineken * Cargill * Oracle * Next and
more.
Defra experts who were instrumental in creating the CRC will also be
speaking at this event. They will be joined by energy and environmental
directors from companies implicated in the scheme to discuss how
corporates will participate in the CRC which affects over 5,000 companies
operating in the UK.
"I am interested in how the league table will be publicised and getting
more information on how the carbon budgets will be set," says Maggie Kemp,
Environment Manager at Cable & Wireless, and a speaker at the event.
