Capital Gold Group, Inc. Donates Solid Gold to Charity Event Benefiting USS Ronald Reagan Sailors
(CSRwire) LOS ANGELES, May 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Capital Gold Group, Inc., premier
provider of Gold IRAs and physical gold for direct delivery, donated solid
gold bullion to The Reagan Golf Classic and Legacy Dinner benefiting the
Michael and Colleen Reagan Scholarship Fund for sailors serving on board
USS Ronald Reagan, the San Diego Navy League and the San Diego Armed
Services YMCA.
In announcing the event, Michael Reagan noted that former President
Ronald Reagan called San Diego his "lucky city" and ended all his
campaigns with triumphant rallies here. "Dad loved San Diego and San Diego
loved Ronald Reagan," he added. "We are especially honored to have the
event in the city that serves as home to USS Ronald Reagan. Whether at
home or deployed, these sailors are in my family's daily prayers -- as are
all of the brave men and women serving our great nation in uniform."
The event kicked off with The Reagan Legacy Dinner at the Del Mar Fair
Grounds, paying tribute to the military and look back at the life and
legacy of Ronald Reagan.
Players participating in The Golf Classic's Fun Flight at the Coronado
Municipal Golf Course were "Going for the Gold", actual 999.9% pure gold
bullion, donated by Capital Gold Group for the winner of the charity
event. Other prizes included two all expense paid trips to compete in the
2008 Mercedes-Benz National Championship in Kaanapali, Maui, Hawaii.
Other sponsors included Mercedes-Benz, Del Mar Fairgrounds and
Thoroughbred Club, Las Vegas Sands Corp. (Venetian Resorts), Tri-West
Healthcare Alliance, and Sullivan International Group.
Michael Reagan, the son of the late president Ronald Reagan, and his
wife, Colleen, created the scholarship fund as a way to honor sailors
serving on board the ship that bears his father Ronald Reagan's name. The
USS Ronald Reagan is the 9th Nimitz-class nuclear-powered aircraft carrier
and the first ship in the Navy to bear the name. The benefit is a tribute
to the noble men and women serving our nation.
The scholarship fund augments the Navy Tuition Assistance program by
providing financial assistance to USS Ronald Reagan sailors who are
continuing their education or returning veterans in need.
Michael Reagan also recently announced the formation of The Reagan
Legacy Foundation, a non-profit organization that will support the Michael
and Colleen Reagan Scholarship Fund as well as other efforts including
education and research on the history of the Presidency of Ronald Reagan
and finding a cure for Alzheimer's disease.
The San Diego Navy League is a non-profit organization dedicated to
educating citizens about the importance of sea power to U.S. national
security and the need to provide meaningful support to those serving in
the Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and Merchant Marines and their
families.
The San Diego Armed Services YMCA (ASYMCA) is a non-profit
organization established in 1920 with the mission of supporting and
enhancing the lives of local actively duty military members and their
