Former U.S. Speaker to present in a live, interactive video webcast, June 10, 2008 at 11:00 AM EST--The event is free to attend
(CSRwire) Boston, MA - April 30, 2008 - The Virtual Energy Forum announced today that
Newt Gingrich, former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, will be
the keynote speaker at The Virtual Energy Forum, a
unique two-day, online-only event that will connect thousands of
executives with sustainability experts, innovators in sustainability and
energy efficiency, and providers of alternative energy products and
services -through a LIVE, interactive online environment.
Mr. Gingrich's keynote address will be broadcast live on the Web at 11:00
AM ET on June 10, 2008, and will be based on his ongoing clarion call for
mainstream and entrepreneurial environmentalism and will center on
examples of business partnerships on behalf of the environment. At the
core of his address, Mr. Gingrich will share insights and recommendations
from "A Contract with the Earth," the 2007 book which he co-authored with
environmentalist Terry L. Maple, president of the Palm Beach Zoo.
Described by the Washington Post
as "an earnest call to deal with worldwide environmental problems," the
recommendations made by Gingrich and Maple in A Contract with the Earth
provide thought-provoking perspectives on bi-partisan cooperation and an
imperative for government, business and the public to work together to
protect and renew the planet.
Beyond his longtime services as a member of the Congress, Mr. Gingrich is
a former environmental studies professor, published author and highly
sought-after public speaker, and also is Chairman of the Gingrich Group, a
communications and consulting firm that specializes in transformational
change.

"Attending and participating in virtual events is an environmentally
friendly alternative to conventional, physical conferences and tradeshows.
Through its use of the Web as the means to connect thousands of attendees
with exhibitors, sponsors and other participants, the Virtual Energy Forum
is a wonderful example of an energy conscious event that practices what it
preaches," said Newt Gingrich, Chairman of American Solutions. "I am
honored to be the keynote speaker at this event and I look forward to
interacting with attendees during the Forum."
Conducted over the Web on Tuesday, June 10 and Wednesday, June 11, 2008,
The Virtual Energy Forum (VEF) is designed to serve corporate energy
executives and facility managers in a way that is not possible with
physical events or webinars. The event is FREE for all registered
attendees-who will participate in the Forum, from the convenience of their
own offices or homes.
The Virtual Energy Forum’s unique Web-based platform will offer a unique
way for energy users, innovators and policy makers to gather together
online to share and learn about energy management best practices. Featured
tracks at the Virtual Energy Forum include "Cases in Corporate
Sustainability", "Green IT", "Putting Renewable Energies to Work",
"Investing in Alternative Energy", and "Energy Management Best Practices".

sustainability including senior energy executives from the private and
