The M&A Forum™ Announces Inaugural Caesar Awards™ for Corporate Social Responsibility

Call for Nominations

(CSRwire) (New York, NY) – April 28, 2008 – The M&A Forum™, a conference producer and newsletter publisher, announced today that the nomination deadline for the inaugural Caesar Awards has been extended to May 9. The awards honor excellence in mergers and acquisitions with emphasis on Corporate Social Responsibility.

"CSR is a vital if often overlooked component of M&A," said Warren Strugatch, president of The M&A Forum. "Savvy dealmakers recognize the importance of good corporate citizenship. They encourage it by creating new programs and by continuing or expanding existing programs at acquired companies."

He continued, "The Caesar Awards are created to support CSR by honoring deal professionals whose actions embody those values throughout the merger process."

The M&A Forum will award seven Caesar Awards upon review of nominations by a panel of judges. In addition, CSR will be a criterion in determining winners of 18 awards recognizing excellence in transactions and client service.

The Call for Nominations:

Awards will be presented at a celebration in Southampton, N.Y. the evening of June 17, following Convergence 2008: The M&A Summit in the Hamptons.
Nomination forms are available online at http://themaforum.org/html/awards.html. The nomination process is free. Deal makers, program directors, fund managers, public relations professionals and marketing officers are encouraged to nominate benefactors, mentors, visionaries and program managers.

In selecting award winners, judges will evaluate nominees according to such criteria as employment preservation or expansion, ‘green’ deals, job training programs, pro bono efforts, or philanthropic contributions to non-profit causes.

Awards will include:

  • Deal of the Year
  • New Program (e.g. Job retraining)
  • Green Deal of the Year
  • Community Contribution (by a firm)
  • Community Contribution (by an individual)
  • Business Educator of the Year
