Cause Marketing Forum Coming to Chicago May 29
Leveraging Web 2.0 to Do Well by Doing Good a Major Confrence Focus
(CSRwire) April 22, 2008 - Engaging consumers via Web 2.0 strategies will be among
the hot topics when the Cause Marketing Forum, the world's largest
gathering of business and nonprofit executives dedicated to building
alliances, convenes at the Westin Chicago River North on May 29th.
The business and nonprofit pros behind some of America's most outstanding
cross-sector campaigns will be among the two-dozen presenters at the Cause
Marketing Forum. Keynote presenters include:
American Express VP Belinda Lang and US Fund for UNICEF VP Jay Aldous
offering perspectives on The Members Project, the campaign that brought
1.5 million visitors to the American Express website to select a
humanitarian initiative for the company to fund.
Unilever Senior Marketing Communications Manager Stacie Bright
analyzing The Dove Campaign for Real Beauty, a breakthrough program that
includes one of the most successful viral videos of all time
Crate and Barrel Marketing Director Kathy Paddor and DonorsChoose.org
EVP Brita Lombardi describing the win-win outcome of collaborating to
distribute charitable gift certificates that empower the retailers'
customers to provide public school teachers with essential classroom
materials.
Cone Inc. Chairman Carol Cone and Brian Reich, author of "Media
Rules!", explaining how to harness new media for a cause
Another conference highlight will be the presentation of Cause Marketing
Golden Halo Awards, the industry’s highest honor, to McDonald's and St.
Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Separate keynote speeches
highlighting the honorees' cause-related strategies will be given by
McDonald's VP of US Communications Richard Ellis and St. Jude Children's
Research Hospital Corporate Alliances VP Clark Sweat and National Outreach
Director Marlo Thomas.
"We've attracted the most respected and dynamic experts at doing well by
doing good to share their key success factors," said David Hessekiel,
president and founder of Cause Marketing Forum Inc. . . "The conference -
and our pre- and post-conference workshops - make this an enriching
program for veterans and newcomers alike."
May 28th pre-conference workshops "Cause Marketing 101 for Business" and
"Cause Marketing 101 for Nonprofits" will provide first-class training in
general strategy and tactics while "Mission Measurement" focuses on
capturing return on investment. On
May 30th "The Cause Marketing Legal Workshop" will cover critical tax and
regulatory issues.
New this year is a specialized post-conference gathering on May 30th for
nonprofit executives in charge of their organizations' efforts to partner
with corporations. "The 1st Annual Nonprofit Alliance Development
Leadership Summit will provide the top people at America's leading
charities with a unique opportunity to benchmark their work and compare
notes on how to succeed in today's challenging environment," Hessekiel
explained.
