GreenYour.com, First Search-Based Guide to Eco-Friendly Living, Opens to the Public for Earth Day
Web-based Tool Allows Users to Fill in the Blank for Whatever They Want to Green. Green Your Home, Green Your Travel, Green Your Anything!
(CSRwire) NEW YORK, NY – April 18, 2008 - GreenYour Media LLC today announced the
beta launch of GreenYour.com - the first search-based
tool that allows you to fill in the blank for whatever you seek to green.
Whether you want to green your lighting and your heating, or your dating
and your voting, GreenYour guides you from important facts and actionable
tips to cutting-edge products you can click and buy – allowing you to
cross items off your green "to do" list.
"While people are increasingly aware of the world's environmental
problems, it's still far too hard to find clear, reliable information on
what to do and how to get it done,” says Andrew Shapiro, co-founder of
GreenYour. "To help, we engaged environmental experts and writers to
build GreenYour. Our goal is to create an easy-to-use resource for anyone
to green just about anything."
Launching with more than 2,000 pages of facts, tips, and products,
GreenYour seeks to serve as a trusted source on anyone's path to living a
greener life. From healthy cleaning products and energy-efficient
appliances to cool gifts and hot vacation spots, users can find thousands
of ways to improve their lives and the environment.
“Finally there is a place that connects people with good, green products
and the latest research on what is best for them and the planet,” says
Elizabeth Rogers, Creative Advisor to GreenYour and author of the New York
Times best-seller, The Green Book.
Built on an open-source content development platform, GreenYour gives
environmental experts the ability to contribute information in their
particular areas of knowledge – allowing GreenYour to feature timely
recommendations from leading thinkers and organizations.
“Today is our beta launch. Next, we will introduce a range of
interactive tools and partnerships,” says Neil Black, co-founder of
GreenYour. “An important priority is to share this content with big
media and bloggers alike, as well as consumer product and retail
companies, schools and non-profits, in order to reach as large of an
audience as possible and provide a tool to green your anything.”
About the founders:
GreenYour was conceived by GreenOrder, a sustainable business strategy
firm that helps big companies go green and green companies get big.
GreenOrder’s mission is to make environmental progress profitable. The
mission of GreenYour – an independent company – is to make
environmental progress practical for everyone.
