Social Network CEO Starts Charitable Initiative

Famzam.com Teams Up With World Vision to Change Children's Lives

(CSRwire) NEW YORK, NY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 04/16/08 -- Famzam.com LLC, a family centric social connection site that allows users to create their own custom family and friends network, today announced a charitable corporate partnership with the Christian humanitarian organization World Vision. For over 50 years, World Vision has touched the lives of one million people every year, in nearly 100 countries around the world, including the United States.

"We are very happy to partner up with a premier charitable organization like World Vision," said Anthony Lamme, CEO, Famzam. "One of my main reasons for creating Famzam was to promote a positive environment for social networking. Too often we hear and read about the negative influences related to these sites. I wanted to build a safe online environment that would make it easy for families to get connected, but also use the viral power of social networking to do some good around the world, and thus, came up with this initiative."

When Famzam first launched last month, Mr. Lamme personally sponsored the first World Vision child. His name is Kali and he lives in India. From that point on, for every 5,000 new members who join Famzam, the company will sponsor another child. If each member of the site connects with just two family members or friends, in a few short years Famzam will have close to 8,000,000 members. That will result in the social connection site sponsoring 1,600 World Vision children. "Not only will our members be getting closer to their family and friends, they will ultimately be changing the lives of these children forever," Mr. Lamme added.

"We're thankful that Anthony has chosen World Vision as his charity of choice. Sponsoring children around the world is one of the most valuable ways to provide them with education, nutrition, and improve their quality of life," said John Clause, senior director, east region, at World Vision.
