Good Earthkeeping Organization Inc. Takes an Environmental Leadership Position by Joining Carbonfund.org's CarbonFree(R) Program
(CSRwire) ORANGE, CA - , March 13, 2008 – Good Earthkeeping Organization Inc.
announced today that it is offsetting its carbon emissions with Carbonfund.org, one of
the country's leading carbon offset organizations. G.E.O. Inc. has offset
over 72 metric tons of CO2 and is committed to making available to all its
clients a carbon-neutral product and service. This commitment establishes
G.E.O.
Inc. as an environmental leader in the Environmental Remediation
community and demonstrates the proactive steps G.E.O. Inc. is taking in
the fight against global climate change.
Many of G.E.O. Inc.'s clients are very concerned about the impact of local
emissions from environmental remediation projects on global warming.
Considering the implications of climate change, carbon
offsets through Carbonfund.org are a natural extension of the work
G.E.O. Inc. does on behalf of its clients and stakeholders, which involves
the sequestration and recovery of organic vapors from environmental
remediation equipment for reuse or recycling.
Good Earthkeeping Organization Inc. identified Carbonfund.org as a
complementary organization and a strategic partner that furthers the
progress of its values. G.E.O. Inc. has been committed from the beginning
to sustainably remediate soil and groundwater such that the present and
future impact to humans and the environment is minimized. It cares deeply
about the effects of environmental remediation impacts and transfer of
waste in our environment by existing or historical methodologies, and it
strives to provide an alternative sustainable and cost-effective remedial
technology for the environmental remediation industry.
"One of the primary benefits of G.E.O. Inc.'s remediation technology is
the ability to recover 'waste' and return it to the market as a
reusable/recyclable product or fuel replacement. The missing link, which
Carbonfund.org provides us and our clients, is the ability to offset the
energy used to turn the waste into a reusable product," said Lowell
Kessel, Vice President of G.E.O. Inc. "This creates significant value for
us and our clients and moves us closer towards our vision."
"We're happy to help G.E.O in its mission of promoting efficiency through
the recovery and return to the market of volatile organic compound waste,"
said Eric Carlson, Executive Director of Carbonfund.org. "Good
Earthkeeping Organization Inc. is truly living up to its name with this
new partnership."
About Good Earthkeeping Organization Inc.
G.E.O. Inc. was founded in 1989 as an environmental remediation services
supplier specializing in the manufacturing and operation of in-situ vapor
extraction equipment for the removal of high concentration volatile
organic compounds (VOCs) from the subsurface. G.E.O. Inc. developed and
continues to improve upon a proprietary off-gas treatment technology
designed for highly efficient, cost-effective recovery of VOCs from soil
vapor extraction (SVE) and multi-phase extraction (MPE) systems. The
off-gas treatment technology developed by G.E.O. Inc. combines
cryogenic-cooling and compression with regenerative adsorption technology
(C3-Technology) that allows for condensation and recovery of the VOCs in
the form of non-aqueous phase liquid (NAPL) and has repeatedly
demonstrated substantial cost-savings and effectiveness when compared to
GAC and ThermOx systems at many sites with high concentrations of VOCs
including solvents and fuels.
