Deloitte Consulting LLP Signs on to Sponsor the Uptime Institute's Green Enterprise IT Awards Program
(CSRwire) SANTA FE - February 29, 2008 - The Uptime Institute, in partnership with
Deloitte Consulting LLP, is proud to introduce an exciting and valuable
addition to Symposium 2008: Green Enterprise Computing—the Uptime
Institute Green Enterprise IT Awards program.
Through its white papers, Symposia, Charrette, and Seminars, the Institute
has consistently demonstrated that increasing the energy efficiency (and
reducing the carbon footprint) of enterprise data centers is crucial to
continued data center availability, reliability, and
profitability. The Uptime Institute Awards program will continue this
emphasis by publicly recognizing the critical contributions of new
technology and management practices that increase the energy efficiency,
productivity, and availability of enterprise computing. And, even more
significant, it will make widely accessible the "how-to" implementation
knowledge, a lack of which currently prevents many organizations from
adopting new energy-saving technology.
Deloitte Consulting's participation makes it possible to offer the 2008
Uptime Institute Green Enterprise IT Awards program free of charge and
there is now no fee to apply. The awards program is open to all
organizations, public and private, with internally controlled and managed
enterprise data centers located anywhere globally.* The Uptime Institute
Awards are intended to create top-to-bottom institutional awareness that
IT can save significant amounts of energy which directly enhances
bottom-line profitability while significantly reducing overall corporate
carbon footprint.
An integral part of the Institute's annual awards program will be the
sharing of both the successes and the lessons learned along the way. By
sharing such hard won experience, the Institute hopes to facilitate others
in quickly harvesting savings that will enable the uptime
industry to cap or reverse the current inexorable rise in computational
energy consumption.
Applications and further program information are available on the Uptime
Institute's website at uptimeinstitute.org. The
application deadline is March 15, 2008. If you have any questions
regarding the program, please contact Lora Tomita at ltomita@uptimeinstitute.org
or 505.577.1054. To learn more about the Uptime Institute Green Enterprise
IT Awards program, please visit: uptimeinstitute.org/green
