Duke Energy CEO prepares to address top manufacturers
50 companies confirmed to speak at Sustainable Manufacturing Summit
(CSRwire) CHICAGO – February 25, 2008 – Jim Rogers, CEO of Duke Energy, is
looking forward to addressing top manufacturers at the upcoming
Sustainable Manufacturing Summit on April 8-9 at the Art Institute
of Chicago.
"Taking action on global climate change is good for business, good for our
customers – and good for the planet," says Rogers. "By sharing ideas and
best practices, we can reach the right solutions for our stakeholders
today, and create new possibilities for future generations."
Rogers is opening the two-day summit which focuses on how manufacturers
can reduce their climate impact at every stage of the production process
– from product design through to waste.
The event features an unprecedented gathering of sustainability experts
from global manufacturers and demonstrates their strong willingness to
share their climate strategies and learn from each other.
"The organizations involved in the Sustainable Manufacturing Summit are
outstanding and Kimberly-Clark is excited to be participating among this
group of leaders in the field," says David Spitzley, Product
Sustainability Manager, Kimberly-Clark. "I think the combination of the
strong topical agenda and knowledgeable individuals involved should make
for an excellent event."
"I am very much looking forward to the Sustainable Manufacturing Summit,
as it gives Philips the opportunity to share best practices with and learn
from industry peers," adds Kaj Den Daas, CEO of US lighting, Sustainability
Board Member, Royal Philips Electronics.
