California Academy of Health, Inc. Partners with Carbonfund.org to go CarbonFree
(CSRwire) TEMECULA, CA - February 20, 2008 – California Academy of Health, Inc.
announced today that it is offsetting its carbon emissions with
Carbonfund.org, one of the country's leading carbon offset organizations.
California Academy of Health, Inc. has committed to reducing its burden on
the environment through the use of energy efficient devices, recycling, and
supporting eco-responsible and cooperative farming throughout Asia and the
Americas. This commitment establishes California Academy of Health, Inc.
as an environmental leader in the Natural Herbal Health community and
demonstrates the proactive steps it is taking in the fight against global
climate change.
"In our travels around the world it became evident that all of us need to
think about the effects our daily routines have on the planet," said Miles
Kelly Baughman, President of California Academy of Health, Inc. "We take
so much for granted. Just one small example–plastic water bottles and
plastic bags–what an incredible waste. Often they’re used only once
and then disposed of. Just think of the sheer volume and time it takes
from these items to bio-degrade. And they don't look pretty in our seas,
lakes and rivers!"
"California Academy of Health, Inc. is concerned about not only the health
of its customers, but the health of the planet on which they live," said
Eric Carlson, Executive Director of Carbonfund.org. "The Earth's
prognosis is a little bit better with them onboard."
