Oliver North to Speak at USA Cares Charity Gala
(CSRwire) LOUISVILLE, KY - February 12, 2008 - USA Cares will host guest speaker Lt Col (USMC
ret) Oliver North March 29th 2008 at their very fist Gala celebrating
USA Cares fifth year
of leading the charge in supporting military Service Members and their
families.
USA Cares, a 501 c 3 non–profit focused on the Nation's newest Veterans,
will hold the black and white event at the historical Seelbach Hilton in Louisville,
Kentucky. Appropriately themed, "Sea to Shining Sea", the event will
celebrate the assistance USA Cares has provided across the United States
and around the world. With nearly 10,000 Service members calls answered,
and 5M in funds and resources, USA Cares has emerged as a leader in
military family related charitable organizations.
Lt. Col. North's status as an American hero, combined with his military
insight and understanding of the military family made him the perfect
speaker for the event for USA Cares. . Since 2001, North has been the host
of War Stories — the award-winning military documentary series on Fox
News Channel. He has also authored eleven books — all of them New York
Times bestsellers. His next book, American Heroes, based on his extensive
coverage of U.S. military units engaged in Afghanistan, Iraq and the
Philippines will be published in April 2008.
"Col North just returned again from Iraq visiting the troops, so who else
can relate to the demands on them and their families" said Roger
Stradley, Operations Director at USA Cares. "The fact that he has also
faced combat makes him a compelling figure during this war on terror",
Stradley added.
Sponsorships and tickets for this formal event are still available at www.usacares.us or by
calling USA Cares office at 800.773.0387.
