UHY Advisors Named to OCEG Leadership Council
(CSRwire) HOUSTON, TX and PHOENIX, AZ - January 23, 2008 - UHY Advisors Technology
Assurance & Advisory Services Group has been named to the Leadership
Council of The Open Compliance and Ethics Group (OCEG), the only nonprofit
organization offering comprehensive guidance, standards, benchmarks and
tools for integrating governance, risk management, internal control and
compliance (GRC) processes. Practice Leader Norman Comstock, a Managing
Director with the firm, will serve as the firm's primary representative to
the Council.
One of the Leadership Council's primary responsibilities will be
collaborating with the industry for the OCEG Framework 2.0 (Red Book), an
update to the 2005 version, which is the only publicly vetted model for
integrated governance, risk management, compliance and ethics management
(GRC). The current model has been recognized in academic journals, the
Wall Street Journal, Business Finance, Inside Counsel, Treasury & Risk,
Compliance Week and others. It is widely recognized for articulating the
value of integrated GRC and demonstrating that it is possible to achieve
this value.
"Being part of the OCEG Leadership Council and having a seat at the Red
Book 2.0 table is a real honor. Rarely in one's career is there such an
opportunity to work in such a collaborative way on a project that will
have as much impact as the Red Book already has, and will have in the
future," said Comstock. "We are really at the starting gate in the
development of a tool that will help drive corporate efficiency for the
next decade. As companies play on an increasingly global field, the
improvements in effectiveness gained through a truly integrated
governance, risk and compliance program can give them a competitive
advantage."
UHY Advisors-OCEG
"OCEG is pleased to welcome Norman to the Leadership Council. In a
relatively short time, UHY Advisors has demonstrated the ability to offer
both thought leadership and sweat-equity to the ambitious task of Red Book
2.0," said Carole Stern Switzer, OCEG President and Chief Legal Officer.
UHY Advisors Technology Assurance group has cultivated a leadership
position in the governance, risk and compliance (GRC) consulting. The firm
has recently developed one of the industry's only methodologies for
monitoring GRC-critical data from existing enterprise resource planning
platforms in a format that allows management an omnibus view of the
interdependencies of risk within an organization. These methodologies have
been endorsed by several major ERP software companies, and are currently in
use in numerous Enterprise companies.
Work on the OCEG Red Book 2.0 is already in the design draft stage, and
will be in public draft form in April, 2008.
