O-I's Crawford Elected to Keep America Beautiful's National Board of Directors
(CSRwire) STAMFORD, CT - January 29, 2008 – L. Richard Crawford, President of
Global Glass Operations, O-I, has been named to the national board of
directors of Keep America Beautiful, Inc., as announced at a recent Keep
America Beautiful board of directors' meeting in Washington, D.C.
"We are very pleased to have Rich Crawford as a new member of the Keep
America Beautiful board of directors," said McKenna. "Each new director
brings to our organization particular expertise that will be instrumental
in Keep America Beautiful's continuing effort to provide community
improvement solutions across America."
Other new members elected to the board of Keep America Beautiful (KAB)
include Susan Henderson, Vice President, Corporate Communications, Wm.
Wrigley Jr. Co.; John W. Burgess, President & CEO, Coca-Cola Recycling
Corp., LLC; Howard Ungerleider, Commercial Vice President, Plastics, The
Dow Chemical Company; Paula Davis, Executive Director, Keep Akron (Ohio)
Beautiful; and the newly-appointed President & CEO of Keep America
Beautiful, Matthew McKenna. Barry H. Caldwell, Senior Vice President,
Government Affairs and Corporate Communications, Waste Management, Inc.,
was appointed chairperson of KAB in the summer of 2007.
"As a founding member of the organization, O-I is dedicated to Keep
America Beautiful and I am honored to help continue its long legacy of
community involvement," said Crawford. "Environmental stewardship is key
to O-I, especially in the area of recycling, which certainly supports Keep
America Beautiful's mission of promoting greater responsibility for
improving community environments."
Crawford, a 25-year veteran of O-I, has served as President of Global
Glass Operations since October 2006. Prior to being named to his current
position, Crawford served as President of the Latin American division
beginning in 2005. He also served as Director of Operations and
Technology for O-I's European Operations beginning in 2004. In 2000, he
was named a Vice President of the company. O-I is a founding member of
Keep America Beautiful and has had a presence on the KAB board since KAB's
inception.
