The Climate Group, the Carbon Disclosure Project, Nike, Rainforest Alliance, Levi Strauss & Co, Nestlé, Nike, IBM to discuss the development and Successful Implementation of Greener Manufacturing Methods Across Supply Chain Partners
(CSRwire) New York, NY - January 25, 2006 - The Climate Group and the Carbon
Disclosure Project have recently joined the executive level cast of
speakers - Nike, Phillips - Van Heusen Corporation, Rainforest Alliance,
Levi Strauss & Co, Nestle, Nike, IBM among others - that will gather at
the Ethical Sourcing Forum 2008, on the 13th-14th of March in New York
City, to discuss sustainable supply chain practices.
Trina Mallik, Climate Group's Director of Corporate Engagement,
North America, will discuss the recent trends to tackle carbon in the
value chain, drawing on international examples.
Zoe Riddell, Vice President of Carbon Disclosure Project USA will
outline how and why investors are collaborating via CDP to encourage
disclosure of corporate GHG emissions and business strategies to deal with
climate change.
Fukumi Hauser, Nike's Director of Americas Compliance, will speak
about building credible relationships with suppliers. Engaging suppliers
to own their remediation plan has no magic bullet. It takes mutual
respect and respect needs to be earned.
J. Scot Sharland, Executive Director of the Automotive Industry Action
Group (AIAG) will explore the industry's effort to cascade working
conditions information and education throughout the global supply
