Bakers Square Helps the Make-A-Wish Foundation(R) Grant 'Pie in the Sky' Wishes on National Pie Day
Restaurant Guests Also Can Receive a Free Slice of Pie
(CSRwire) DENVER, CO -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 01/17/08 -- Bakers Square restaurants,
known for serving 'The Best Pie in America(R),' will donate 50 percent of
sales from all whole pies sold on National Pie Day (Jan. 23) to the
Make-A-Wish Foundation, with a minimum donation of $25,000. Restaurant
guests can also receive a free slice of the pie of their choice that day
at any Bakers Square location by visiting www.CelebratePie.com.
"Baking award-winning pies has been a part of our heritage for more than
twenty years," said Ken Keymer, CEO of VICORP Restaurants, Inc., which
owns Bakers Square restaurants. "It's our hope that on this day that
celebrates a part of American culture, we can demonstrate our commitment
to helping others, like the children involved in the Make-A-Wish

With the help of generous donors and more than 25,000 volunteers, the
Make-A-Wish Foundation grants a wish every 40 minutes and has granted more
than 161,000 wishes in the United States since inception.
Bakers Square guests who wish to receive a free slice of pie on National
Pie Day can visit www.CelebratePie.com to print a
coupon redeemable for a free slice of pie at any Bakers Square restaurant
location. Web site visitors also can learn more about the history of pie
and can reserve their favorite pie online.
Bakers Square has been serving award-winning pie since its founding in
1983. In 2007, Bakers Square won 23 blue ribbons at the American Pie
Council's National Pie Championship. French Silk continues to be the
restaurants' most popular, award-winning pie. In fact, Bakers Square sells
