Conference Program Featuring the "Who's Who" of the Global Carbon Market
Arnold Schwarzenegger and Yvo de Boer to lead a list of prominent speakers at the CARBON FORUM AMERICA 2008 CONFERENCE and TRADE FAIR
(CSRwire) CHICAGO/GENEVA/COLOGNE/WASHINGTON/OTTAWA - January 7, 2008 - CARBON FORUM
AMERICA today announced its invited high profile speakers. Among them are
Arnold Schwarzenegger, Governor of California and Yvo de Boer, Executive
Secretary of the UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate
Change) and host of the Bali conference which ended last week. Other
speakers include Jos Delbeke, Director of the European Commission and
known for designing the EU's CO2 emissions trading scheme and John
Drexhage, Director of IISD's Climate Change and Energy Program, an expert
on regulatory frameworks for greenhouse gas emissions and post-2012
climate change regimes.
The two day Trade Fair and Conference will take place from February 26-27,
2008 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.
The Plenary sessions will look at California’s lead in designing state
legislation and how state initiatives can be linked to federal and global
markets. The Conference tracks will consist of three streams with 21
workshops navigating attendees through the essential issues of Policy
Matters, Market Place and Technology.
Policy Stream sessions will examine regional programs and prominent policy
issues needed to regulate carbon markets. Market Stream Sessions will
showcase carbon markets in operation. All sessions will provide in-depth
knowledge on investment strategies, accounting issues, carbon trading and
compliance issues. Technology Stream Sessions will highlight a series of
technological innovations as a result of energy and carbon pricing.
Workshops will identify risk and opportunities.
Over 100 speakers will be featured during the 2 day Conference. They
will include Senior Management from PG&E, Clifford Chance, EcoSecurities,
Chevron, JP Morgan, Natsource and the World Bank. The majority of
companies speaking during the workshop sessions will also be represented
with exhibits on the trade show floor adjacent the Conference rooms at the
Moscone Center. Conference delegates will consist of Bankers, Law Firms,
Verifiers, Industrials, Investment Promotion Agencies, Technology
Providers, Policy Makers as well as Students and Faculty.
